Neutral Walls That Will Grow With Them

If the wild colors your child really wants are a little too intense for your taste, consider painting their walls in a neutral color like gray, white, or light beige. Incorporating your child’s brightly colored artwork and giving them a choice of bedding or other decor will give them the color they crave while keeping the space calm enough for you.

Of course, if you’re comfortable letting your child pick a color or two for their walls, an accent wall is the perfect compromise. One wall in purple or neon green is much more palatable and easier to change down the road than an entire room.

You want something that will hold up to crayons, fingerprints, and whatever else your child might throw at them . When it comes to chemicals in your home you always want to make eco-friendly choices but especially so for your child’s room. Look for a brand with low VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) to ensure the air that they’re breathing during playtime is pure and healthy.
